A French-Moroccan woman was aboard the EgyptAir flight that crashed during its route from Paris to Cairo on Wednesday.
The victim, a 48 years old mother, was on her way to visit her daughter who is a student in the Egyptian capital, her family told Moroccan news site Febrayer.
The family of the victim has received confirmation of the death of their beloved from the Egyptian Ministry of Interior, according to the same source.
The EgyptAir flight from Paris to Cairo with 66 passengers and crew on board went down overnight in the Mediterranean Sea off the Greek island of Crete.
According to official reports, the plane is more likely to have been brought down by a terrorist act than a technical fault.
Egyptian authorities have now confirmed that the wreckage of the missing plane has been found. In a statement on Facebook, the airline said that Cairo’s foreign ministry has confirmed finding the wreckage of the plane south of the Greek island of Karpathos.
EgyptAir said that family members of passengers and crew have been informed and investigation teams are still searching for other remains of the plane.
