The Council of the Moroccan Community living abroad was established in 2007. It is responsible for monitoring and evaluating Morocco’s public policies regarding Moroccans living abroad.
The CCME is responsible for monitoring and evaluating Morocco’s public policies in regards to the Moroccans of the world. Its specific responsibilities include:
– Issuing notices to ensure the defense of the interests of Moroccans living abroad, strengthening their contribution to the economic, social and human development of Morocco.
– Reinforcing the diplomatic relations and cooperation between Morocco and the respective countries of residence of Moroccan expats.
– Bringing together legislative members and observer members representing key ministries and institutions involved in migration issues.
– Strengthening the cultural activities among the Moroccan Diaspora.
