Every year, the Legatum Institute, a London-based think tank, releases its annual Global Prosperity Index.

This huge survey ranks countries based on how wealthy, healthy, happy and safe they are.

Morocco ranks 79th globally in the 2015 Prosperity Index, having risen by six places since last year.

The survey shows that Morocco’s best performance was in the Economy sub-index, where it ranks 38th in 2015.

Worryingly, the country’s lowest rank is in the Education sub-index, where it ranked a lowly 104th in 2015.

Morocco is placed between Turkey and Georgia.

While the amount of money a country has constitutes one factor of prosperity, Legatum Institute considers more than that in its ranking.

Some 89 variables are taken to consideration in the survey, and these include traditional indicators like per capita gross domestic product and the number of people in full-time jobs, as well as things like the number of secure internet servers a country has and how well rested its people feel.

These are the top performing countries of the 142 included in the survey:

1. Norway
2. Switzerland
3. Denmark
4. New Zealand
5. Sweden
6. Canada
7. Australia
8. Netherlands
